Ann-Cathrin Drews’ Ph.D. research centres on the significance of art and aesthetics in the works of Michel Foucault. Former stays included the Kunstakademie Münster (Academy of Fine Arts Münster) and the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung, Karlsruhe, where she obtained her Master’s degree in History of Art and Philosophy with a thesis on subjectivity and aesthetics in the works of Michel Foucault and Jacques Lacan; at Goldsmiths College, University of London (BA History of Art, Gilles Deleuze, Jacques Lacan and the Baroque); and at the Royal College of Art, London (Curating Contemporary Art).
Since September 2014, Ann-Cathrin Drews has been working as a research associate for Professor Dr Claudia Blümle in the field of history and theory of form at the Institute of Art and Visual Studies of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She is also an editor of the Franco-German magazine Revue Régards Croisés.
