Anne Leicht

Anne Leicht studied History of Art, Italian Literature and Cultural History and Theory at the Universities of Münster, Florence and Berlin. After her graduation at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, she was a doctoral candidate and research assistant at the Kunsthistorisches Institut (KHI), part of the Max Planck Society in Florence and at the Biblioteca Hertziana in Rome. For her doctoral thesis with the working title »Tradierung topographischen Wissens – Der Strozzi-Plan und seine Quellen« she is working on the cartographic representation of Rome in the late 15th century. Her research interests are art and the humanistic culture of the Early Modern period in Italy, reception of Antiquity and cartography.

At the Excellence Cluster, Anne Leicht is working on the base project »Indexing collections«. Here, the aim is to develop new forms of interdisciplinary indexing work in co-operation with colleagues from the areas of costume, restoration, conservation, computer science and interaction design. Objects serving as examples for investigation belong to the collection of paintings in the  »Lipperheideschen Kostümbibliothek« (Lipperheide Costume Library); this comprises approximately 700 objects relating to fashion and costume history in the period from 1450 to 1900.
