The
project’s goal is to bring together cultural studies and physics in an
investigation of specific experimental systems, focusing on how knowledge
production takes place, is promoted or hindered within them. The construction,
performance and documentation of experiments and the associated formulation of
theories are elements of a historical development and can only be understood
and examined in their wider cultural context. The project analyses case studies
with an interdisciplinary approach, applying perspectives from anthropology,
historiography, mathematics, philosophy and physics.
