Katharina Heine gained her Diploma in Biochemistry with specialisms in Neurobiology and Biophysics in 2013. She decided to go on to a master’s at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain in order to broaden and deepen her understanding of the functioning of the brain and the mind from an interdisciplinary perspective. Her aim is to link knowledge and planes of understanding from both programmes with each other in future research projects.
Her research project investigates structural changes in the brain in people with depression and their potential effects on the flexibility of information processing. She plans to study these in the context of the stability and integrity of self-perception in social settings.
