Lukas Oberem studied Art History at the University of Stuttgart and the University of Siena, where he gained his bachelor’s degree. In the winter semester 2017/2018, he enrolled at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin to study Art and Visual History. He wrote his undergraduate dissertation on Pieter Codde’s »Art Lovers in a Painter’s Studio«. In it he examined the artwork in the context of Dutch 17th-century meta-painting. He has held a scholarship from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation since 2018.

Lukas works as a student assistant in the unit led by the Chair of the History and Theory of Form in the Department of Art and Visual History. His responsibilities include image and literature research and assisting with seminar and lecture preparation and on research projects.
