Martin Lorkowski studied Biology at the University of Osnabrück, completing an M.A. in 2012 and proceeding to the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin to embark on a doctorate under the supervision of Regine Hengge. Since November 2013, he has been working on various environmental effects on the formation of bacterial biofilms using the example of the bacterium Escherichia coli, comparing harmless commensal and pathogenic strains at genome level.
