Nhu Huynh Nguyen studied Mechanical Engineering. He is currently working as a biomechanics engineer. He has experience in both hard and soft tissues. His research interests are finite elements (FE) and FE programming, modelling (static and dynamic simulations) and experiments with non-linear materials.
In the Cluster, he is working on a quantitative investigation of the role of shape and internal membrane structures on the inflation of biological membranes. This research can be applied to investigations of the function of cellulosic filter-feeding houses in Oikopleura dioica, a species of tunicate.
