Sabine Biedermann holds a degree in Sociology from the Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago de Chile. She wrote her thesis on the interdependency between material transformations in the built environment, and the emergence of new family forms and ›home cultures‹ in the former Colonia Dignidad in Chile. Following her first degree she successfully received the title of Master of the Arts in European Ethnology from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, with a concentration in knowledge cultures/science and technology studies. For her Master’s thesis project she investigated the interplay between medical care and research practices in the clinical trials conducted at an outpatient addiction clinic.
