Thomas Picht is a neurosurgeon, Assistant Medical Director, and head of the »Image Guidance Lab« of the neurosurgery department at Charité Berlin. He has headed the consortium »Perioperative Early Diagnostics« at the neurosurgery clinic for many years and was significantly involved in the introduction and further development of navigated TMS in preoperative analysis and in the surgical planning process with respect to brain tumour surgery. His comprehensive clinical experience with problems in image navigation, image fusion, and imaging-based surgical planning is crucial for the project »Image Guidance«. His research is practice-oriented and he has tackled many questions and approaches in numerous publications that coincide with the theoretical research interests of the project. Accordingly, he can significantly enrich and advance medical image research in the project.
