Valentin Wormbs, born in 1960, has been Professor of Image Design at the Konstanz University of Applied Sciences since 2002. He teaches the university’s programmes in Communication Design. He has led the Department of Architecture and Design as Dean since 2009 and is a member of the Institute for Professional Writing and Visual Rhetoric (IPS). After completing his degree in Art Education and postgraduate studies in Free Graphic Art at the State Academy of the Fine Arts in Stuttgart, followed by German Studies at the University of Stuttgart, he has worked as a freelance artist and photographic designer since 1990. He is commissioned by architects, public institutions and private companies to develop visual concepts and to photograph people, buildings, and objects from everyday life. His images and installations can be found in public and private collections, and are regularly shown in exhibitions in Germany and abroad.
