Lilly Pyras began pursuing a B.A. degree in Art and Image History as well as Physics at the Humboldt-Universität in October 2015. She previously spent half a year in Romania and developed the soundscape composition project »Wie klingt Timisoara?« (How does Timisoara sound?). In the course of her studies she worked as a student assistant under Prof. Dr. Kai Kappel (Chair of History of Architecture and Urban Development) and as a freelancer for the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz (National Museums in Berlin - Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation).
As part of the Deutschland scholarship recipient programme, she is currently carrying out a project on the theory and history of experimental systems, taking the sun as a primary example. Her leading research topic is the influence of the cultural sciences on the creation of mathematical models since the Renaissance. How do explanatory models reflect the knowledge of the times?
