Sabine Marienberg studied Romance Studies and Philosophy in Munich, Berlin and Perugia and completed a doctoral degree on »Zeichenhandeln. Sprachdenken bei Giambattista Vico und Johann Georg Hamann« (Negotiating signs: Giambattista Vico and Johann Georg Hamann's language of thought) at Freie Universität Berlin. She then collaborated on a research project at the University of Basel on the neural correlates of multilingualism; explored relations between language and consciousness as part of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research project »Funktionen des Bewusstseins« (Functions of consciousness) at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities; and subsequently worked as a research associate in the Research Group »Picture Act and Embodiment«. Within the research project »Symbolic articulation« she explores concepts of movement in and through speech. Her research interests are the philosophy of language, philosophy of the mind and aesthetics.
