Stephan Barthel

Stephan Barthel worked on the project »Anthropocene«. As a geographer, he has up to now focussed on urban disparities and conflicts as well as vulnerability and risk research. His particular interest is Latin American megacities and different mechanisms of displacement (gentrification, etc.); as a research assistant at the Bauhaus Universität Weimar, he widened the context of this socio-scientific research. Currently he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Geoinformation and Visualisation at the University of Potsdam with the aim of identifying the interdependency of building structures and the socio-spatial organisation of urban societies, as well as anthropogenic storage sites in the urban space.
