Thorsten Beck studied at Freie Universität Berlin and Hebrew University of Jerusalem and holds a M.A. degree in Jewish Studies, Political Science and German Literature. From 2005 to 2011 he worked as a researcher and project manager for the Jewish Museum Berlin where he developed exhibitions and interactive media formats.
Thorsten Beck worked as a research associate at Interdisciplinary Laboratory Image Knowledge Gestaltung of Humboldt University from 2012 to 2015, where he carried out a research project on the subject of image manipulation. He completed his dissertation project »Shaping Images. Scholarly Perspectives on Image Manipulation« at Berlin School of Library and Information Science and is currently working as a member of The HEADT Centre (Humboldt-Elsevier Advanced Data and Text Centre).
