Verena Straub concluded her studies in Art and Visual History at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2012. As a research associate for the project »Designing Laboratories« she will explore the history of visual representations of laboratories. Employing comparative image analysis, she will investigate the extent to which the design of laboratories interacts with knowledge production and vice versa. In other research projects her focus is on the role images play in situations of conflict. Verena Straub’s Master’s thesis analysed images and video testaments of female Palestinian suicide bombers.
