Susanne Herbst came to Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin) in 2007 for her B.Sc. in Biology. After also having completed her M.Sc. in Molecular and Cell Biology at Freie Unversität she started her PhD in the laboratory of Regine Hengge at FU Berlin and switched with Prof. Hengge’s team to Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2013 where she is currently conducting research. Her research project focuses on the molecular signal effect of oxidative stress and how it affects the morphogenesis of the biofilms of the intestinal bacteria Escherichia coli.
